Pacific Alliance Launching Breakfast
The Pacific Alliance is a regional trade bloc established in April 2011 by four member states, all bordering the Pacific Ocean: Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile. Costa Rica and Panama are in the process of becoming member states. The Pacific Alliance also counts with 42 Observer countries, including the U.S. and China. Several of the Observers have working agendas and collaboration projects with the Alliance in areas like education and innovation.
Purpose of the Pacific Alliance
The purpose of the Pacific Alliance is to facilitate regional integration and generate joint cooperation among its member countries in diverse areas and economic activities, including tourism, environmental matters, education, trade, business initiatives, investment opportunities, etc.
The Pacific Alliance Business Network (PABNet)
The Pacific Alliance Business Network (PABNet) is a common platform created by bi-national Chambers of commerce and that seeks to promote business development and investment opportunities between the Pacific Alliance member states and the U.S. It provides a common setting where interested parties can connect and share business ideas and commercial projects relevant to the U.S. and the Pacific Alliance region.
The Pacific Alliance Business Network seeks to connect U.S. companies, mainly those related to Texas, but not exclusively, with companies of the Pacific Alliance member states in order to generate new businesses and investment opportunities. Apart from CTCC, which has been successfully generating business connections for the past four years primarily with Colombia, there are many other entities that could benefit with their participation in the Pacific Alliance Business Network, including:
- Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Trade Promotion Agencies of Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Observer Counties
- U.S. companies already doing business or seeking to start a business or invest in the Pacific Alliance region (or in any or some of its member states) could get valuable information and updates on commercial trends, government policies, import and export rules, and other economic data.
- The Pacific Alliance Business Network is also a great platform opened to entrepreneurship and innovation in various areas.
